![]() ![]() I’m interested in recommendations from those of you that have been down this road already and use those radios with fldigi. ![]() Haven’t really gotten that far yet but want to consider that into the solution eventually. I also may end up running LinBPQ on a raspberry pi 3 potentially to tie everything together and include Winlink functionality. Being able to use fldigi and packet radio at 1200/9600 baud is my goal for the mobile. My apologies if my post is too far off topic. I have both rigs working with FLDIGI and I would be content to use it exclusively if I won’t be causing problems logging voice contacts along with my digital contacts. The overall goal for the Go-kit is EMCOMM communications and already includes an Icom 7300 and Pactor modem along with redundant DC power. I have Ham Radio Deluxe software but it doesn’t interface with my Kenwood TM-V71A. I consider all of these radios to be fantastic radios by themselves. ![]() Both require a Signalink or similar device which will take up more space in my Go-Box. The Icom ID-5100ADLX has DSTAR capability and requires a little more effort to get to work with fldigi cabling wise from my understanding. I think it should work of you already have those cables. Previously owned a D710 and really liked it in my vehicle. The TNC and data connections on the D710 are features I like. I am also considering Kenwood TM-D710GA or Icom ID-5100ADLX. TNC,APRS and C4FM features are icing on the cake. I like simplifying the solution by eliminating a signalink and the potential of having to fiddle with settings on yet another device. This wouldn’t require a Signalink so saves complexity, space and cost potentially. I haven’t spoken to anyone that is using the 400XDR with fldigi. Currently leaning towards a Yaesu FTM-400XDR as it appears to have a USB port that can be used to control the radio as well as a built-in sound card capability. I’m building a “Go-Kit” and looking for a 2m/70cm mobile that I can use with fldigi easily. ![]()
